CSMA

Advocacy

The CSMA is committed to advocating for the best industry standards and practices, as well as creating retail recognition of sunrooms as viable alternatives. The mandate of the Canadian Sunroom Manufacturers Association is directly related to this focus on lobbying for effective codes of practice, and members of the CSMA are encouraged to advocate the issues that the CSMA is involved in to their own members of government and to their associates.

The primary focus at the time of inception has been to tackle issues related to code limitations across Canada. As the membership grows the Association will respond to the important issues that arise out of meetings, dealer surveys, and the industry itself.

CSMA is meant to be a unifying body across the industry in Canada and therefore will not respond to issues which may divide the membership or cause problems for a sector. All input on relevant issues which should be tackled by the association are welcomed and can be forwarded directly to CSMA's office for consideration.

Advocacy Issues and Materials

The CSMA is committed to lobby for effective codes of practice for the sunroom industry in Canada, and as such, feels that the industry needs specific building codes related to its own unique practice. The implementation of sunroom specific codes will increase a standard of professionalism and care in the industry and at the same time will increase consumers' confidence in the sector.

As part of the CSMA's regular programming, Dealer Surveys are conducted continuously to gauge issues in the Sunroom Industry. Statistics relating to the industry are also part of this survey process. Results of these surveys can be accessed here.
